APFA is a FIPFA-affiliated body, allowing Australia to both compete in and host international level competition. APFA and Australia have hosted both editions of the Asia Pacific Oceania (APO) Cup in both 2013 and 2019 and both held in Sydney. Australia is also set to host the FIPFA World Cup in 2023, with the world’s best athletes coming to Sydney.

FIPFA POWERCHAIR FOOTBALL WORLD CUP 2023
15 to 20 October, 2023
Australia will be hosting the 4th edition of the FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Sydney, will matches to be played at Sydney Olympic Park’s Quaycentre.
World Champions France will go into the tournament looking to defend their title, but are sure to face stiff competition from European Champions England, American Champions USA and APO Champions Australia.

APO Cup
The APO Cup brings the best teams from across Asia, Oceania and the Pacific together every 4 years to fight for the title of APO Champions.
The 2019 edition was also a FIPFA World Cup Qualification event, with Australia and Japan claiming APO’s spots despite stiff competition from a tenacious New Zealand.
Australia hosted the 2019 APO Cup in Sydney, with the home team claiming the title thanks to an undefeated run to the trophy.
EPFA Nations Cup
Europe’s top-tier international competition beings together Europe’s best every 4 years, with some of the world’s top talent fighting it out for the EPFA Nations Cup crown and FIPFA World Cup qualification.
The 2019 EPFA Nations Cup was held in Pajulahti, Finland. England claimed the crown via an epic penalty shoot-out win over FIPFA World Champions France. Thanks to their results, joining the two finalists at the FIPFA World Cup 2022 are Ireland, Denmark and Northern Ireland.
APFC Americas Cup
The American Powerchair Football Confederation brings together talent from throughout the Americas every 4 years, with teams fighting for continental glory and qualification for the FIPFA World Cup.
The 2019 APFC Americas Cup took place in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, with two-time FIPFA World Champions the USA taking home the silverware after a hard-fought competition. Joining them at the FIPFA World Cup 2022 are South American powerhouses Argentina and Uruguay.
